Welcome to the Women's Leadership Council. It is an honor for me to lead this organization as we take on the many issues that face women and children in the greater New Orleans area. Our membership was up to 807 women at the end of the 2007 United Way Campaign, and we have an ultimate goal of 1,000 members. Through WINGS - our under-35 membership - we are focusing on the future and contributing to the growth of the next generation of women leaders. Your membership contribution represents a significant investment in our city, which continues to have many needs. Equally important, we continuously assess these needs - so you can be assured that your donation is spent wisely and makes a major difference in the lives of women and children.

I encourage you to join us and get involved in the WLC’s many initiatives. Our collective energy and financial support will help us reach our goals over the next two years. Our advocacy efforts throughout the state have been extremely successful, and, as our membership grows, our unified voice will become stronger. We will also have many events planned for the year, including educational, social and cultural programs. Please check our events calendar on the website for details.

The women of the WLC have a unique opportunity to change and improve the lives and futures of so many women and children.
