Where was United Way after Katrina?
That seems to be the question everyone is asking…….
When the first hurricane made landfall, United Way began coordinating a response by gathering resources, providing volunteers, delivering financial assistance and human services, and contributing to the stability of our parish.
United Way supports immediate disaster relief through our first responder partner agencies such as American Red Cross, the Salvation Army , Catholic Charities and Second Harvest Food Bank.
The statewide 2-1-1 Emergency Information and Referral Line also provided the most accurate, up-to-date information for recovery resources because the United Way VIA LINK partnership expanded the capacity of the
2-1-1 Call Center immediately following Katrina.
United Way was here before, during and after the storm.
