Provides disaster relief as well as disaster planning and preparedness education. Offers classes in health and safety, such as first aid, water safety, CPR, HIV-AIDS education, and disease transmission prevention. Offers opportunities for volunteers in all community services and programs. Also provides services to members of the armed forces and their families.

Provides information on cancer risks, prevention, detection and treatment. Also provides medications for needy cancer patients cared for at home. Offers counseling for addictions, trauma, abuse, parenting, marriage, divorce, separation, custody evaluation and mediation, and domestic violence. Services provided for children, adults, and families. Provides general seminars for children and youth to assist with positive role models, developmental experiences, social stimulation and interaction so that they may develop emotionally and socially to their fullest potential. THE SALVATION ARMY AREA COMMAND

VISITING NURSES ASSOCIATION OF GREATER NEW ORLEANS, INC.

VOLUNTEERS OF AMERICA OF GREATER NEW ORLEANS, INC.

Reaches out to those in need throughout a 16-parish area in Southeast LA. Each year, Volunteers of America directly assists over 16,000 people - from women experiencing an unplanned pregnancy to couples eager to adopt; from those in prison to the elderly needing assistance to remain independent; from people who are hungry and homeless to children and adults with disabilities; from troubled youth to adults struggling with addictions. Also provides safe, affordable housing and neighborhood enrichment centers.

YOUTH SERVICE BUREAU OF ST. TAMMANY

The Youth Service Bureau provides assessment, counseling, group therapy, law-related education, community service work, monetary restitution to victims, safe driving classes, information and referral, parent mentoring, counseling, substance abuse treatment, Drug Court and support and education for parents of juvenile offenders. The CASA program fosters quality advocacy efforts to ensure that all children in the community have safe and permanent homes.
