The Plaquemines Parish United Way Victory/ Kickoff Luncheon took place on June 4 in the Belle Chasse Auditorium. Companies in the parish raised over $272,000 under the dedicated leadership of Plaquemines United Way Chairman and former Assistant District Attorney Charles Ballay.

Labor and United Way – Working for a Better Community
United Way for the Greater New Orleans Area met with Area Local Unions and AFL – CIO (American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations) President Mr. Tiger Hammond at a luncheon given in appreciation to all local unions earlier in the year. The luncheon also addressed ways to partner together on major social and human service initiatives in our area in the future.

Eddie Izzard Comedy Show to Benefit Neighborhood Housing Services of New Orleans
Comedian and actor Eddie Izzard will perform a benefit concert helping low and moderate-income New Orleans residents become sustainable homeowners on Monday, June 23rd, at 7:30 p.m. at Tulane University’s McAlister auditorium. One hundred percent of proceeds will be going to Neighborhood Housing Services of New Orleans.
