New Orleans Combined Federal Campaign raises Record Campaign Totals

CFC Award
CFCGNOA Director Linda Steinhauser, PCFOGNOA's Al Sassone, U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu and CFCGNOA's Barbara Olynick.

2006 became a historic year for the Combined Federal Campaign when the Greater New Orleans Area CFC ran two campaigns.  The late 2005 GNO campaign following the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita rose close to $600,000.  The 2006 campaign for the GNO area raised $1, 370,000.  The combined total for the two campaigns comes close to $2 million dollars.  The local federal workers, whether rescuing victims from the storm or displaced from their home, were among the most generous in the nation.  Our federal donors donated to charities that helped them personally and with the recovery efforts in the Gulf Coast Area.

The Greater New Orleans Area Combined Federal Campaign received national recognition for its 2006 campaign, which doubled the amount raised previously in 2005.  The GNOA CFC is one of three campaigns who reached over the $1 million mark.

The Office of CFC Operations announced the successful results of the national 2006 CFC Campaign, which raised $271.6 million, setting a new record.

“On behalf of the Office of CFC Operations, I thank you for your dedication and for everything you do to make the CFC a success!” announced Mark W. Lambert, Acting Director - Office of CFC Operations, upon announcing the campaign totals after they were submitted in early June.

Lambert shared the list of winners of CFC’s Annual Campaign Increase Awards [listed below].  Representatives of the campaigns will be recognized at the National CFC Awards ceremony in Washington D.C. in late July.  The Ceremony was held at the Whitehouse in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building and was followed by a reception in the historic Indian Treaty Room.

The Campaigns recognized included the following:

Campaigns Over $1 Million: Greater New Orleans Area CFC, North Central Texas CFC, Three Rivers CFC

Campaigns From $250,000 - $1 Million: Southern Mississippi CFC, Coastal Georgia CFC, Onslow County CFC

Campaigns Under $250,000: San Juan County CFC, Southern Illinois CFC, Mojave Valley CFC

The Greater New Orleans CFC was also recognized by Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu following the National CFC Awards.
