Bridging the Divide: Money for Our Priorities?
2007 LANO Regional Advocacy Trainings and Legislator Luncheons

Child Care Vital to Post-Katrina Recovery and Royal Castle Child Care Reopens!

Louisiana Association of Non-Profits [LANO] and United Way for the Greater New Orleans Area are holding the 2007 LANO Regional Advocacy Training and Legislator Luncheons, moderated by Melissa S. Flournoy, Ph.D. President and CEO of LANO, throughout Louisiana from March 5th – 21st.

With a $2.6 billion surplus and many Gulf Coast communities still devastated, there’s limited opportunity to align state funding with the state’s priorities. LANO plans to enhance the role and impact of nonprofits as policy advocates and to get regional nonprofit leaders and legislators together to discuss the state's priorities.

The event’s agenda includes Advocacy Training focusing on the impact of State Budget and Fiscal Policy on Non-profits and a Legislator Luncheon discussion on Legislators’ Perspective on Issues.

On March 5th, the first Training and Luncheon was held at The Ashe Cultural Arts Center, located at 1712 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd, in New Orleans. Each session is expected to last from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
