For
Companies: Tips
For Excellence: Fundraisers |
| |
| While the emphasis for your campaign should
be placed on traditional fundraising solicitation, many
companies incorporate extra fundraising events into their
campaign to supplement results. To encourage greater participation,
we recommend the costs to participants be minimal.
|
* Sell raffle chances for
$1 each - raffle off anything from a donated weekend stay
at a hotel to a parking spot or a donated dinner for two.
* Sell casual day coupons (let employees wear buttons
that say “I paid to dress this way for the United
Way”).
* Bake sales
* Obtain a life-size cut out of a celebrity (available
at larger craft chains). Sell picture-taking opportunities
for $1 each.
* Employees sell candy-grams for $.25 each.
|
|
* Hold a silent auction (see
special events for auction item ideas)
* Popcorn sale
* Car Wash
* Host an international lunch - have employees bring
ethnic lunches for potluck. Charge $2 - $3 a plate.
* Host a putt-putt golf tourney. Teams pay entry fee
to play, with prizes for winning teams.
* Have a “penny war”. Departments compete
to collect the most pennies. (Note: If you donate the
proceeds to United Way, please convert the pennies to
currency or check!). |
